The difference goes with the price, however, so if you want to save more, settle for a lower carat mark and no one will know the difference.

Choose lower grade diamond. If you don’t mind going for less clear diamond, do so and go for a lower grade color and clarity. Just don’t forget the real symbolism of the ring, and that is to show the world that you are engaged. Besides, real friends won’t scrutinize your ring so any imperfections will go unnoticed.

Choose other gemstones. Aside from diamond, you can equally have a nice engagement using other gemstones. It does not mean it isn’t romantic or traditional because far too many couples, even from years past, have chosen to get engaged using sapphires, emerald, and other equally precious and romantic gems. Choose nontraditional designs. It is common that an engagement ring has a center stone in diamond. And so, why not opt for nontraditional designs like a smaller center stone or none at all. You can also choose gold, silver, and platinum engagement rings with patterns and none of the diamonds or precious stones.
